(( This idea originally started off a Guild RP event The Covenant Triumvirate had planned, but it didn't quite go through because other stuff came up. I liked the idea a lot and I wanna take it a step further.))

The Alliance 9th Battalion is Recruiting

Grab your sword and fight the Horde!

Or at least, that's how simple our world used to be.

Today, we're fighting a war in Outland against the Burning Legion, and here on Azeroth against countless many things. The Grand Army of the Alliance is scattered too thin, and with the threat from Northrend looming over our heads, the Alliance must make ready to counter the threat of the Scourge.

Here in the Kingdom of Stormwind, the Militia under the leader of Commander Pilus Malbridge keeps safe our homes and our loved ones while we of the Regular Army are away in far off lands fighting to keep the armies of darkness at bay.

In Dun Moder the brave Mountaineers keep safe the realm of Ironforge, and in Darnassus the ever vigilant Sentinel Army protects their lands from the Warsong Orc clan, and the Remnants of the Burning Legion's invasion forces.

The war against the Horde is long over, yet pockets of both sides still cling hard to the old hatreds while darker and more sinister forces gather around us looking to attack us when we are at our weakest. It is the forces of the Grand Army of the Alliance who are called upon to give these forces of darkness a bloody nose they will never forget.

The high council of the Alliance based in Theramore has approved plans to create a new Battalion for the Grand Army of the Alliance. Recruitment begins on August 15th, at the Command Center in Stormwind.

As is tradition in the Army, Soldiers are required to provide their own uniforms and weapons.

Recruits will be placed into divisions according to their skill sets. Infantry, Cavalry, Archers, Spell Casters, Healers.

As this is Regular Army, every man and woman is expected to do their duty and carry out any orders given to them. Failure to do so will result in extremely harsh punishments, anywhere from dishonorable discharge, latrine duty, lashes, and in the most extreme, you may be hanged.

Details of the project.

This is not a new guild. We have enough guilds on this server. Think of this as more of a club. Everyone has a background they come from, but when you're in the army, nobody cares who you are or where you come from as long as you do your job.

This is *NOT* being created to rival the Militia. Though the possibility of conflicts is always there, we'll just have to see how this works out. That's 90% of the fun after all! SSL has a rich political RP set up at the moment. There is a Stormwind Council, and I can imagine they may not be to happy that the leaders of the Alliance are having a new Battalion formed in the Middle of Stormwind.

This is intended to give role players a platform to base Military RP for their characters if they would like to, you no longer have to simply say you serve the Alliance Army, now you actually can!


We would like to create as authentic of a mideval military RP experience as possible. Without making anyone feel like they have to leave a guild or roll an alt to take part in it. We would like to use this as a platform for world RP, and PvP is also a real possibility. Other events would including marching against the Black Rock Orcs in Redridge, and invading the Burning Steps, even simply clearing out the Dagger Hills in Westfall of the Defias, or the Graveyard around Raven Hill in Duskwood of the Scourge.


This will further more mean giving up on your character's sense of individuality during these RP events. We won't care if he's the bastard son of Anduin Lothar, or if you're the sister of Prince Arthas Menethil, if you're told to go clean up the latrine, you do it, if you're told to march, you march, if you and your unit are told to move out on a battle field, you stay together just like you see in the movies where professional armies would always march and fight as one. You will follow the orders of your superiors without question, you will not speak out of turn, you will never speak OOC in /s, this includes bracket speak (( this is out of the question )) at our meetings and events. OOC chat rooms will be provided for everyone’s use.

WE ARE NOT THE POLICE, the RP criminals are the job of the Stormwind Militia, this is regular army, we fight Horde Raids that show up at the gates of Stormwind, we counter attack their towns and cities, we fight NPC threats on a large scale.

Depending on the level of interest, we would like this to be a weekly thing where we’re all on active duty for that day or days. We will judge by the level of interest how much more or less we can do.

Ranks:

We will assign Enlisted and Officer ranks to people after we get our selves sorted.

Ideally, we would like to select officers who are interested enough to help manage the mess this could potentially become since we're going to be a guild without the tag so to speak.

I’ve come up with a special ranking system which will hopefully make this all work more efficiently, I can’t stress enough that there has to be a CLEAR CHAIN OF COMMAND WHICH EVERY PARTICIPANT MUST RESPECT. Or else what’s the point? Privates don’t question Generals to their faces without being very sorry for it.

General (Commands the Battalion)

Colonel (2nd in Command of the Battalion)

Major (Commands a Division i.e. Cavalry, Infantry, etc.)

Commander (Commands a Regiment or a part of a Division)

Lt. Commander (2nd in Command of a Regiment.)

Lieutenant (Assists in the Micromanagement of a Division, will possibly lead small Platoons of a Regiment or Division. They will also do logistical Jobs.)

Sergeant-Major (Reserved for the most outstanding Enlisted RPers. We have one right now who will handle all IC training, and he is a Soldier IRL, and he will be brutal, you probably won't like him, but he will strive to provide the real authentic feel.)

We may add in various specialist ranks based on how things work out, and who stands out enough to earn a specialist rank.

I'd also like to reiterate:

- NO OOCing, EVER!

-We will all be striving to provide an authentic Military experience!

-We will be based in the Command Center of Stormwind, depending on the size of the group we get, we may even take up SI:7 and the Champions Hall, ideally, we would like Old Town to Thrive as a Military wing of the city full of soldiers living their daily lives on duty.

-Members who participate will be sent in game letters which will serve as their proof of enlistment or commissions. It won't just be on FlagRSP that you're an Officer of the Alliance Army, that document from the Battalion's General or Colonel will identify you as a legitimate soldier, with a legitimate rank, and function.
